Emergency Patient Care

The Center for Acute Medicine („ZAM“) is the central point of contact for emergencies—24 hours a day.

Located in the new, modern and unified facilities within the Surgery Complex (Auenbruggerplatz 29), the Center for Acute Medicine provides comprehensive emergency care for adult patients in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Neurology, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Surgery, and Urology. Patient care is delivered through close interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration between the various specialties.

The core treatment area (resuscitation rooms, bays, radiology unit) is located in the basement level of Block B within the Surgery Complex. This is where all acute cases are treated.

On the ground floor, a general medical practice is available for all specialties. Patients who require a medical examination but are not classified as acute cases (typically walk-in patients) are seen here and referred for further care if necessary.
