Orienteering Park: The University Hospital as a Sports Ground
Health should be fun! With this in mind, two new running trails were launched in April 2024 on the grounds of the University Hospital Graz. The hospital campus is now an inviting space for physical activity and health promotion.
The trendy sport of orienteering marks a major milestone in making the hospital grounds more accessible for low-threshold, health-promoting activities. In addition to improving physical fitness, this sport also boosts mental agility.
The new Orienteering Park (or O-Park for short) is designed for runners who find regular jogging too monotonous. It’s a true "playground" for active minds and bodies. Orienteering combines outdoor exercise with the excitement and motivation of an adventurous—yet entirely analog—treasure hunt. It’s the perfect activity for anyone looking to train both brain and body.
The offer is open to everyone—young or old, beginners or seasoned orienteers. The starting point is located northeast of the LKH chapel. Maps are available at the InfoCenter of the University Hospital Graz or can be downloaded at www.uniklinikum.kages.at and www.outdoor-orienteering.at/lkh-med-uni.
